In April 2020, Elyria Catholic High School announced plans to renovate its Performing Arts Center. The first two phases of renovations are complete. The stage has been permanently expanded, and it features four front fill speakers and two side-wash speakers to improve the sound quality. The facility holds state of the art LED lights that saturate the stage in a myriad of colors, a wireless programmable console that holds all the cues for multiple shows at one time, and an app students use from their phone to control cues. The ticket booth and concession stand have been refurbished and an office has been transformed into a make-up and dressing room.
In late December 2020 and early January 2021, we will complete the third phase of this project. The ceiling, walls and bleacher area will be painted. Twenty-five doors have been ordered for the four entrances, lobby restrooms, ticket office and concession stand, scenery storage, the new dressing room, and surrounding offices.
The last phase of the project involves the installation of 221 dedicated auditorium style seats on the main floor and new bleacher style seats in the balcony. All seats will feature an engraved brass plate on the arm rest displaying the individual or family name. All those who purchase a seat and those whom the seats are named after will receive an invitation to our Performing Arts Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Meet Your Seat event in the fall of 2021. ALL seats are sold! Installation of the seats is planned for Summer of 2021!
