To graduate from Elyria Catholic High School, the student must successfully complete the following courses:
Theology 4 credits
English 4 credits
Social Studies 3 credits
Mathematics 4 credits
Science (Biology required) 3 credits
*Fine Arts 1 credit
Health 1/2 credit
Physical Education 1/2 credit
Electives 4 credits
TOTAL 24 credits
*Beginning with the Class of 2021, students must earn ½ credit in Dramatic or Musical Arts and ½ credit in Visual Arts
*Beginning with the Class of 2022, students must successfully complete 2 years of World language. This would mean that the elective credits for the Class of 2022 would change from 4 credits to 2 credits.
*Beginning with the class of 2022, ½ credit of Introduction to Business is required.
GRADUATION TEST(Class of 2017 and up):
The Ohio Department of Education has created pathways in which students can graduate from high school. A student must meet one of the following criteria:
1. Ohio’s State Test: At Elyria Catholic High School, the IOWA Test is used as the Ohio State Test. Students must earn 18 points total. A minimum of four points in math, four points in English language arts and six points across science and social studies are required.
2. College and Career Readiness Test: At Elyria Catholic High School, the ACT Test is used to determine college and career readiness. The ACT is given to juniors in the spring of their junior year. Currently, students must meet a 22 in the Reading and Math section and an 18 in the English section. Ohio’s university presidents set these scores, which are subject to change.

COLLEGE ADMISSION RECOMMENDATION
Students should be aware that college admission requirements vary. It is important that students and parents begin the admissions process early and research the requirements of the colleges of interest. The following courses are recommended as the preparatory program for most four-year colleges and universities:
English: 4 Credits
Social Studies: 3 Credits
Mathematics (Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II): 4 Credits
Science (lab experience required): 3 Credits
Foreign Language: 2-3 Credits (minimum 2 credits in the same language)
Fine Arts: 1 Credit
