The visual, fine and performing arts are an integral part of everyday life, incorporating all levels of human creativity, expression, communication and thought. Art is perhaps human’s most essential, most universal languages on earth.
Art may have sociopolitical impact as well as ritual, spiritual, decorative and functional value; they can be persuasive and subversive in some instances, enlightening and uplifting in others. At Elyria Catholic, students celebrate the arts not only in the way we create images or perform, but also in the way we appreciate, enjoy, respect and respond to the practices of art by others from around the world. Students explore different media, images, techniques, history, drama, dance, music and are influenced by one another. Students will develop skills, craftsmanship and a life-long appreciation of art. We use our God-given talents to serve others and provide beautiful external stimulus that enlighten all of our senses, to energize and entertain others.
