Universal truths about humanity are central to the English Department curriculum. Students gain an appreciation for the diversity of all God's creation though life lessons offered in selected readings. Discussions on social justice, ethical responsibility, and cultural norms foster understanding and acceptance of various perspectives.
Students are instructed according to State of Ohio Common Core Guidelines for reading, speaking, listening, and writing skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving are fostered though classroom discussions and cooperative learning. A wide variety of teaching strategies are implemented to make class entertaining, yet meaningful. The ultimate goal of the department is ensuring students are fully prepared for College and future Careers!
