The 2009-2010 Elyria Catholic Student Car Raffle Finishes Big!!

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all of our students, parents, faculty and friends who supported this years’ student car raffle and a very special thank you to our three EC Alums, Nick Abraham’60 of Nick Abraham Elyria Ford, Jim Herrick’70 of Liberty Ford Vermilion and Jack Matia’75 of Jack Matia Chevrolet-Honda for their generous car donations.
The money raised from the car raffle goes directly back to our students for scholarships. This year’s students have certainly shown their loyalty to EC and their fellow classmates by raising more than $77,000 for the EC Scholarship Fund!
Our Grand Prize winner, John Klingbeil of Brook Park, chose the 2010 Ford Mustang. John very graciously gave the car to his mother who said she has wanted a mustang since she was a little girl! The winning ticket was sold by Tyler Mahone ’11, who received a $200 cash prize.
Our cash prize winners were: 1st Place winner of $1,000 was Scott Sinkinson; 2nd Place winner of $500 was Mary Tokar; 3rd Place winner of $200 was Rita Price and the 4th Place winner of $100 was Andy Nester. Congratulations to all of our winners!
Again, thank you to Nick Abraham and Nick Abraham’s Elyria Ford, Jim Herrick and The Liberty Ford Auto Group, Jack Matia and Jack Matia Chevrolet-Honda and everyone who helped support this years’ student fundraiser.
Recycling Fundraiser
Junior Senate is conducting a recycling fundraiser. There’s nothing to buy. We are simply asking you to protect the environment by donating your used consumer electronics and unwanted, broken or mismatched jewelry. Your used item(s) may be tax deductible and will be recycled in accordance with EPA regulations. 100% of the proceeds will help fund the Junior Class.
