We are all Changed

The end of the school year always brings various emotional responses from the school community…the seniors are exhilarated to have successfully accomplished their high school career, a little sad to be leaving the place they have called “home away from home” for the past four years, and reluctant to let go of the relationships they have fostered with faculty, staff, and their classmates.  Their parents are relieved, proud, and probably a bit exhausted by the sheer emotion of watching their child reach this goal.

The juniors, sophomores and freshmen are also excited to be done for the year and ready for a break to reflect and refuel for next year.

The rewards of being an educator don’t always come with students achieving high academic marks, it also comes when students tell you that they “really like coming to EC and can’t wait for next year!”  That conversation took place last Friday afternoon, when the student body participated in a ‘field day’ activity sponsored by the administration to wrap up the school year with a sense of community and fun!

To leave the school year on a high note from the perspective of students is a great tribute to the faculty and staff and the hard work that goes into educating young ladies and young men.  Being able to participate in this process is a privilege and one that we all take very seriously.

On behalf of the entire Elyria Catholic faculty and staff we thank you for allowing us to participate in the educational process of your child.  As a Catholic school, to be able to assist them in their spiritual growth and their relationship with God is by far the most rewarding experience.

I wish you a very safe, restful and rejuvenating break; know that we are here all summer preparing for next year to Be The Change, again!!

Peace
,
