Christian Service Requirements
The Elyria Catholic community holds service to be a value and a high priority. Service to others is, in fact, living out the Gospel message and something we are all called to do throughout our lives.

In the words of Jesus "Anyone who wants to be great among you must be your servant...just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Mt. 20:26-28)
With the above mentioned attitude in mind, we ask that each student perform service hours that meet a criteria.
Community Outreach
Each year students learn about the value of "giving back to the community" through the practice of a variety of corporal works of mercy. They include: Christmas on Campus, holiday activities through the Elyria parks and Rec. Department, the Relay for life, Camp Progress,Special projects that support Blessing House childrens crisis shelter, just to name a few.


Mrs. McMinn's class made quilts to provide to the Haven Center Family Housing Shelter in Lorain


On Saturday, September 26th, over 25 students from Elyria Catholic braved the pouring down rain and cold weather to particpate in the annual Walk for
Justice. These students helped raise almost $900.00 in donations, which will assist the poor and homeless right here in Lorain County.



2009 Christmas on Campus saw approximately 130 underprivileged 1st graders and a group of Southeast Asian refugee children come to EC to celebrate the joy of Christmas.
Living Stations of the Cross
This presentation, now in its 13th year, is made up of a cast of 17 dedicated students from Elyria Catholic. Each year, this group travels all over the Diocese of Cleveland and has performed at dozens of parishes and schools, where they have been very well received. A moving contemporary approach to the Stations of the Cross, you witness each station come to life and feel like you are there, as we explore the thoughts of those who walked with Christ.


Other Christian Service Opportunities
Students are offered close to 100 different service opportunities throughout the course of any given school year.


EC's Culture Conspiracy collected 649 dental care items to help a medical mission team sponsored by the Sociedad Amigos de los Ninos. The team went to Honduras to provide medical and dental exams and procedures for the needy.
