MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear Friends of Elyria Catholic,
Welcome to our school web site and on-line alumni community of Elyria Catholic High School. Whether you are a returning alumni, a current or prospective student, parent, or simply someone searching for an interesting story, you have come to the right place. We invite you to browse our pages and acquaint yourself with this unique story of a community designed to call young men and women to embrace their faith, recognize their full potential, and above all, establish a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ. It is indeed a story that is intended to change the lives of all who become part of her legacy.
Back in 1948, a group of people got together to write a story that was to be the beginning of the “EC legacy.” Armed only with a powerful vision infused with commitment and imagination, the legacy of Elyria Catholic High School was born. Over the course of the next 60 years, the story has gradually been written into the hearts and minds of thousands of individuals who each in their own way became part of this amazing story.
While the academic opportunities are clearly designed to prepare our students for post-secondary education, we remain committed to developing the whole person. The intentional size of our learning community allows each of our students a level of participation in a diverse offering of co-curriculars including athletics, the performing arts, and student service and leadership opportunities second to none. Above all else, we envelop all of this within the shroud of a dynamic orthodoxy steeped in the Catholic tradition and nurtured by a vibrant spirituality.
As I came to realize during a recent alumni event, “STORY MATTERS HERE!” Our community exists and depends on the power of “the story.” The continuation of the EC legacy will continue to depend, as it always did, on the vision, commitment, and sacrifice of those who truly understand the values inherent to the Elyria Catholic mission. The “story” as we say, will always lie in the hands of her students, parents, alumni, and friends. “Loyalty that never dies” is the EC way of saying, “story truly does matter here!”
We continually seek families who share our commitment to the values of our mission. Become part of “the story” if you wish to be remembered!
Again, “welcome,” and enjoy your visit.
Sincerely yours in Christ,
Andrew G. Krakowiak
President
