TLC Mission Statement:

  • Promote information literacy among students and faculty.
  • Provide access to accurate, timely, authoritative materials in all formats representing various points of view in all disciplines.
  • Provide instruction regarding the research process.
  • Promote an interest in reading and the use of ideas and information.
  • Collaborate with educators to support classroom assignments and school curriculum.
TLC Performance Objectives
  • Become critical thinkers as they choose and evaluate resources.
  • Differentiate between respected sources recognized for accuracy and sources intended to entertain.
  • Choose resources that best relate to assignments and curriculum.
  • Investigate current resources that consider local, national and global information.
  • Identify, access and effectively use traditional resources such as books and periodicals, as well as new technology such as CD-ROMs, online services and the Internet.
  • Practice skills that encourage lifelong learning.
