Financial Assistance

Tuition, Scholarships, & Financial Aid
Elyria Catholic High School strives to provide the highest quality educational programs at the lowest possible cost. We recognize and appreciate the financial sacrifices that families make to send their children to Elyria Catholic High School. We work very hard to control our expenses to ensure that we can provide a secondary Catholic education at an affordable tuition rate. Elyria Catholic's tuition is one of the lowest among the twenty-three Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Cleveland. Tuition for the 2007-2008 school year is $6,100.

Payment Plans
In order to assist in the financing of a student's education, three payment options are offered. A family may utilize a one-payment, two-payment, or ten-payment option. Families choosing the ten-payment plan are welcome to make an initial down payment and break the remaining balance up over the ten-month period. Families choosing the one-payment plan receive a $100 tuition discount if the payment is received prior to June 30th.

Tuition vs. Per Pupil Cost
Since our per-pupil cost is approximately $9,028.29, the school relies heavily on fundraising to make up the difference between tuition and per pupil cost. School families are encouraged to take part in our service program and car raffle to help defer the per-pupil cost. Additionally, parents are encouraged to make voluntary tax deductible gifts to the Parents' Annual Fund.

Scholarships & Financial Aid
Elyria Catholic High School has many sources of financial aid and scholarships to assist families with financial need. In order to qualify for any financial assistance, families must submit a PSAS financial aid form. Financial aid is primarily based on financial need, with the exception of the Makara Academic Scholarships, which are given to incoming freshmen on the basis of the results of the Placement Exam.
